Grant a Grad

Both little and big emergency expenses keep people from achieving and maintaining the financial foothold they need to become financially stable. In effort to reduce the effect of an occasional crisis, Whatcom Dream offers course graduates the Grant a Grad program to help pay for that flat tire, broken tooth, or any other problem that can potentially derail progress toward financial empowerment.

Grant funds may support but are not limited to:

 

• Car maintenance

• Veterinary Care

• Work related expenses: interview clothes, resume preparation and more

• Medical Bills

• Utility Bills

• Housing expenses: rental application fees, damage or security deposits, etc.

 

These one-time expenses carry gravity which is why the Grant A Grad Approval Committee reviews applications and determines grant amounts based on need and funding. Whatcom Dream helps our program graduates by directly paying the vendor.  No disbursements are made directly to the graduate.
